It is four months to the day since we began Next Stop: World with a flight to Tokyo. So far we’ve been to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, museums, temples, shrines, caves, fjords, reefs, restaurants, food stalls, food markets, a farm, a mine, a bungy swing, a hospital, a penny farthing race, crappy hotels, nice hotels, comfortable homes, train stations, bus stations, boat docks, taxi stands and plenty of airports.
Next Stop: Kuala Lumpur for New Year’s Eve, and then…?
I have been following you since the article in the Milwaukee Journal. Thank you so much for taking us on your journey all over. It’s WONDERFUL to see the world through your eyes. Happy New Year!
Thanks, Marjory. It’s great to be connected to home through people like you. Happy new year!
I wish you both a very happy new year. Thank you for sharing your joys and challenges. I look forward to each of your posts. My best wishes to you in 2012.
Hey Karen and Ken. Tomorrow we will all be watching the Packers at Lambeau Field and Badgers at the Rose Bowl. All the while packing up Christmas decorations and vaccuming up pine needles, eating the last of the cookies and candy. Then onto “Slimdown-Showdown” at the athletic club. Wish me luck as I work out like a dog, count my calories and fight for a chance to win a $1,000 Visa Card by the end of March. I’ve been working every weekend at a part-time job since late October to pay off a student loan and then upgrade to a bigger motorcycle by Spring time. Get me a picture of a Harley Davidson, if you see one in your travels. Hugs and love (and licks from Wilson). Dee
Hi Dee,
Thanks for all your kind words… and for giving us that visual image of Wilson walking in the gusty wind. That made me smile.
There’s a mall at the base of the Petronas Towers that has every western shop you could think of, including a Harley-Davidson store (I almost snapped a photo). A nice touch of home. Also Garrett’s Popcorn, Burt’s Bees, Timberland, and of course all the big names in fashion. And then, 10 minutes later, you find yourself walking along a dusty street with uncovered manholes and garbage strewn everywhere. Wow.
Happy new year to you and Wilson, and Go Pack Go!
Ken
