Drivers haggle when it suits them, and there’s not much you can do about it when you need to get somewhere. Then again, an “expensive” cab ride in KL is $8… what am I complaining about?

FYI: The cab fare from the downtown Amtrak station in Milwaukee to the Milwaukee School of Engineering is about $8. That is a distance of about 1.3 miles.
Good point, Eric. I started to push back against a haggling cabbie today, and then I stepped back and wondered: what’s the point of talking him down from 10 ringitt (US$3.18) to 8 ringitt (US$2.54)? I gave him 10. We may have gone 1.3 miles, actually!
KL’s crazy streets make any short distance seem long.
